School Education Programme

Our Schools

Education has been at the heart of Rajasthan Bal Kalyan Samiti’s (RBKS) mission since its inception. We believe that schools are not just learning spaces, but foundations of empowerment and opportunity—especially in the remote tribal areas of Udaipur district.

The first school, Rajasthan Bal Vidhya Mandir, Jhadol, was established in 1981 with just 17 students. Over four decades, this humble beginning has grown into a vibrant educational movement, transforming thousands of young lives. RBKS runs 7 schools across Jhadol and Kotra blocks, reaching some of the most marginalised tribal families. Together, these schools have educated and supported 9,471 students to date. Our schools provide education from

Nursery to Class 12, offering students pathways in Arts, Commerce, and Science. Along with academics, equal importance is given to personality development, sports, cultural activities, and values-based learning.

Quality Education in Tribal Regions

RBVM is the first school in Jhadol and Kotra blocks—covering nearly 300 villages—to introduce science education at the Class 11 level. Over the years, the school has expanded to offer Commerce, Arts, and Agriculture streams as well.

Our alumni have gone on to serve society in diverse roles, including as doctors, engineers, chartered accountants, teachers, nurses, and social workers. Some have achieved prestigious milestones such as admission to IITs and medical colleges like RNT College, Udaipur.

The first youth from Jhadol block to join the defense services was also a proud student of our school.

Innovative Learning Environment

RBKS schools are committed to blending traditional values with modern methods. Key features include:

  • Smart Classrooms & Digital Learning

  • CCTV monitoring for safety and accountability

  • NCC, NSS, Scouts & Guides for discipline and leadership

  • Special sessions on personality development, life skills, computer education, and English speaking

  • Spiritual and cultural environment to nurture values

Focus on Girls’ Education

Recognising the urgent need for girls’ education in tribal communities, RBKS launched the Education Complex Senior Secondary School, Beeda, in 1995 under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.

  • Currently, more than 600 tribal girls are enrolled.
  • The school offers Arts education at the senior secondary level.
  • With the support of the Embassy of Japan, a hostel was constructed to provide safe accommodation.

The project is regularly monitored by the Tribal Area Development Department (TAD) and the District Collector, Udaipur.

Inclusive & Free Education

At Education Complex Beeda and Hunar Ghar Bakhel, no fees are charged from any student. Special emphasis is placed on free education for girls to ensure equity and accessibility.

Partnerships & Support

RBKS schools thrive with the support of partners and donors:

  • Ummid – A Hope supports computer and English-speaking classes at Hansraj Children Home, Udaipur.

  • CII Foundation has extended support for computer classes at our Jhadol school.

  • Hinduja Foundation and St Clare & St Francis Trust (UK) provide scholarships for Class 11 and 12 students in Science, Commerce, Agriculture, and Arts, as well as for higher education.

Impact

Through its School Education Programme, RBKS has not only raised literacy levels in one of Rajasthan’s most underserved tribal regions but has also empowered children to dream bigger and achieve more. By creating equal opportunities for both boys and girls, RBKS continues to shape the next generation of leaders, professionals, and changemakers.
