SALT – Sloping Agriculture Land Technology
Our working area is characterised by undulating highlands, therefore in order to promote productive Use of Sloping Land in Aravali region this project of Sloping agriculture land technology for effective Use of 50 Ha. Sloping Land of 78 families in five villages of Jhadol has been quite a specific for the organization and also area. This included activities like Fencing, SWC measures, Advance Work on Hedgerow, Plantation, and exposure visit to successful projects even at Orissa.
Use of Hedgerow and Liquid Manuring Tank became new learning for the tribal community in this region. This whole project was facilitated by Agro-forestry Society so as to sustain the movement. (ICCO – Canadian High Commission, New Delhi).
Presently, RBKS has been selected as the nodal agency for promoting SALT Technology in Tribal Region of Ratlam and Jhabua dist. (Madhya Pradesh) from Canadian High Commission, New Delhi, under the project “Promoting Village Action Group in managing Natural Resources through Sloping agriculture Land Technology (SALT) in Tribal Region of Ratlam and Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh.
Under this project efforts will be directed towards initiation and development of 10 village Action Groups, improving their knowledge base, popularizing Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture techniques and activities to spread LIESA technologies. To replicate the SALT technology in tribal region of Ratlam and Jhabua dist. of Madhya Pradesh, RBKS is working with 10 partner NGOs from the region to promote the livelihood of the poor people and bring them in the main stream.
